This is a delicious beef stroganoff recipe and tempts all senses, smells, sights and makes your tastebuds come back for more. Packed with creams and paprika, as it should be, this recipe is suitable for the entire family, and believe me, children love it.
There are variations of beef stroganoff that included red wine, but this recipe has been adapted to the original as closely as possible and is a basic beef stroganoff recipe, with no wine in it, instead we use sherry.
There is no special occasion suited for this beef stroganoff recipe, it is quick and easy to prepare and suitable for most weeknights, or as a quick lunch.
I have experimented with meats to find the best combination for this recipe and I have found that beef sirloin works a treat. Beef fillet is also a good choice, as is any tender cut of beef.
Eds note: If you plan to freeze the beef stroganoff, do so before adding the cream and sour cream. After defrosting follow the instructions where it describes when to add the cream and sour cream.
