  1. In a large saucepan, boil the green beans or string bins in salted water until just tender, drain, and place in a salad serving dish
  2. In another saucepan, boil the vinegar and sugar stirring occasionally, until the sugar has dissolved
  3. Reduce the heat to a simmer, then add the curry powder, salt, and cornflour to the sugar and vinegar mixture, stir well, until the curry powder has dissolved
  4. Add the cooked green beans to the mixture, increase the heat to the boiling point, then turn off the heat. Drain and refrigerate to allow the flavours to combine, at least two hours. Serve cold, as a side dish to a braai (barbeque). Enjoy!
  5. Chefds Note: You can drain the sauce, and serve the green beans as a side salad, or you can leave the beans in the sauce, and bottle the salad in sterilised bottles, and store in the refrigerator.

By far the best and easiest curry bean salad I have tried. We own a farm stall and the girls are always on the lookout for a new recipe, ideas, to bottle. We sell many of these bottled curry bean salads a month. Thank you. ❤️👍 5.00

This is a great, quick, and easy curry bean salad recipe. I used your suggestion and bottled and labeled the finished curry bean salad and hand these out as presents during birthdays or festive seasons. My people love this. 5.00

I clearly remember a hunting trip to South Africa. These curry beans were one of the items served on the plate, with the meat. I tried so hard to remember what it was called and thank heavens, I have found this recipe. Going to share it with my friends and family. The kids loved it. 5.00
