Marinated Lamb Chops Recipe

This overnight marinated lamb chops recipe is perfect for the braai (barbeque). We compared a few ideas and decided on a versatile marinade. This means you can play around with the ingredients until you find the perfect match that makes your tastebuds come back for more.

The addition of the wine, or sherry, makes this overnight marinated lamb chops recipe quite interesting. Lamb chops pair well with many different kinds of red wine so we decided to use red wine as the basis for this marinade. It was a risk we took, but it paid off.

We tried three variations of this overnight marinated lamb chops recipe. The first one is with the basic ingredients we listed. With the second variation we tested, we replaced the herbs with a curry-based marinade. With the second variation, we used the same red wine but added cinnamon and a few cloves.

We presented all the variations to our taste panel of experts, who agreed we should stay with this overnight marinated lamb chops recipe we listed here. We hope you also enjoy it as much as we did.

As for the red wine we used. The best red wines for cooking are those with moderate tannins: Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese (the main grape in Chianti), and lighter-style Cabernets. Heat won't improve the undesirable qualities of bad wine: it will accentuate them.

We decided on a good quality Merlot and it worked a treat. We did the hard work to bring you this overnight marinated lamb chops recipe and would like to know what you think and welcome you to please share your thoughts with us.
