Peanut Butter Blossoms Recipe

This easy Christmas Cookies Recipe, or peanut butter blossoms recipe, creates a taste that is no other. These peanut butter blossom cookies are loved more than any other cookies, during Christmas. It is easy to understand why they simply taste delicious.


Children love peanut butter blossoms. For this reason, we share a recipe that makes enough cookies for the whole family to enjoy. There is something undeniably adoring about peanut butter blossoms, but there is more to them than looks, they are simple to make and addictively good.


I am not able to tell you why these cookies are most popular during Christmas. Maybe it has to do with a tradition that jumped out of the blue or the love the good times the cookies remind us of. We generally make the cookies all year round, but I must admit, the demand for the cookies increases twofold over Christmas time.


I remember another special occasion when we enjoyed peanut butter blossoms. My wife's sister begged my wife to make peanut butter blossoms for their wedding celebrations. And that is how the peanut butter blossoms became a tradition, or establishment, in our family.

Directions

  1. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and bicarbonate of soda in a mixing bowl
  2. In a mixer, beat the butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, and vanilla on medium speed until combined
  3. Scrape the sides down with a rubber spatula. Add the egg and beat until well combined. Add all of the dry ingredients and beat until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl down. Refrigerate the dough until firm enough to roll, at least one hour
  4. In the meantime preheat the oven to 180°C
  5. Roll the dough into tablespoon-sized balls, then roll in the granulated sugar
  6. spread evenly apart on a prepared baking sheet
  7. Bake in the oven until it becomes puffy, about 10 minutes
  8. Remove from the oven and lightly press a Hershey's kiss into the center of each cookie
  9. Return the cookies to the oven and bake until the cookies are golden brown and the chocolate becomes glossy, about 5 minutes more
  10. Allow to cool, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely
  11. Repeat with the remainder of the cookie dough, storing the dough in the refrigerator between batches. Store the cookies in a single layer in an airtight container for up to 5 days. Enjoy!
